What to Expect

Your Guide to MBC
Visiting a church for the first time can be nerve-racking. But having an idea of what to expect can help. MBC is directed by qualified elders, deacons and staff dedicated to honoring God and serving Jesus in our community.
When you visit MBC, you will find four main parts to every Sunday gathering: preaching, worship, community and kids.
At MBC, we’re all about Jesus—and the only way to get to know Jesus is to understand what the Bible says about him, which also includes what he said about himself. You will be encouraged in others areas of your life that might make you a better person, live a more fulfilled life, improve your relationships or help you manage difficulty through our teaching. That's not really the point. The whole point is your life with Jesus. Without Jesus, nothing really matters. Only Jesus can shape you into being a better person. Only Jesus can shape your marriage for the better. True fulfillment is only found in Jesus.
This means we teach the Bible, because the Bible is all about Jesus. We make no apologies for clear, Biblical teaching. We do this because the Bible teaches this: "So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ." (Romans 10:17)
We feel blessed by God to have talented musicians at MBC who express their love and passion for Jesus through music. We sing a variety of music from classic hymns to current songs you might hear on Christian radio stations to original songs that our music team composes. Music is part of the way in which we prepare our hearts and minds to hear God's word and to respond to that word. Also, as part of our worship, we take communion together and give offerings to support God’s work at MBC. All in all, the atmosphere is casual, reflective, and open for anyone who is seeking to connect with God.
Church is more than a gathering or a building. Church is about people coming together in relationship with Jesus and other Jesus-followers. Church is community. Sadly, too often we experience the faith journey alone.
We rarely think in terms of "we", "us" and "our" and focus on "I", "me" and "mine". Yet, faith was never meant to be experienced alone. Faith was always meant to be experienced in community. The Bible clearly teaches faith in community. Experiencing genuine community as the Bible teaches in a world that pushes us toward isolation is not easy. God made us for relationships. We operate best when we connect with others in community.
At MBC, we make time for community. After worshiping together, we gather outside in the courtyard for coffee, conversation and connection--connecting with other people and connecting with opportunities to serve Jesus in our community together.
Each Sunday, your child will learn the Bible and how it relates to Jesus in an age-appropriate way. The Bible is taught through fun, engaging and approachable ways by committed leaders who serve Jesus by serving your family.
We also want to help equip parents, grandparents and guardians to raise their children through faith in Jesus. We share resources like family guides that go along with each Sunday gathering and opportunities for parents to learn more about their own faith and how to live faith out in the dynamics of family.
Ultimately, the goal of MBC Kids is to get kids excited about Jesus and to get families connecting in faith together.
